Our Rustic Wedding Reception Details

For me, planning my wedding reception was my favorite part of the entire engagement/wedding planning process. I love creating a rustic yet elegant reception and working to stay under budget. All of the little details just made me so happy and being able to see it all together on my wedding day just made me so happy. I hope you enjoy seeing our rustic wedding reception details…

Welcoming guests to the venue were signs made by Primitive Arts (I’m actually selling all three signs if anyone is interested.  I have two wedding signs and one reception sign).

Wedding

At the front of the venue was a covered patio with wooden benches lining both sides.  My mom made these adorable pillows for the benches which added such a country and comfy touch.

As guests walked into the venue, there were two welcome tables including a main table with the rustic escort cards my sister had made.

Wedding

Instead of purchasing a stand to hold the cards, my sister came up with the awesome idea of turning a large picture frame I had into the escort card holder.  My sister strung twine across the frame and secured the string on the back of the frame.

wedding

Attaching the cards with clothes pins was the perfect rustic touch!

I also found some extremely old mason jars over the past year, both in Texas and in West Virginia.  The ones found in West Virginia were also filled with buttons, which was SUPER cute.

wedding

I also brought my engagement photo book (photos taken by Nessa and book by Mixbook).

wedding

We also moved our thumb print tree by Bleu De Toi from the wedding ceremony to the reception so that people could continue to leave their thumb print.

Wedding

The welcome tables were also a place for guests to leave cards and gifts.  The card box was purchased at Target through their Privet House line.

Wedding

Now the tables were my absolute favorite.  Cobalt blue was my main color and knew right away that I’d want white table clothes, blue napkins, and cobalt blue wine glasses.

Wedding

I also found these adorable table number buckets at Michaels, which I used as a pen holder.

Wedding

The wild flower arrangements brought a little country to the table, which I loved.  I also loved the pop of color, that way the wedding was not just cobalt blue.

Wedding

Each place setting had a blue napkin and a mason jar with their name tied around it.

Wedding

The mason jar and straw also acted as each guest’s favor.

Wedding

As guests arrived at their seats, they found a wedding mad lib which were made by Cami Paperie.

Wedding

I thought the mad libs were fabulous and were fun for both the guests and for Neal and I!

Lastly, each table had a bowl of wedding mints which my beautiful mother in law Norma made for Neal and I.  These are very traditional in the midwest and I was so happy to have them at our wedding.

Wedding

Above the cake table we strung a burlap “Just Married” banner which I picked up at Michaels.

Wedding

The cake, from Buzz Bakery, was simple which I loved.  It didn’t take too well to the heat, hence the slight lean, but it was a great cake.  A mason jar with a few wild flowers was a simple touch added to the cake table.

Wedding

To drink, Neal and I saved money by buying wine from Trader Joe’s and beer from Costco.

Wedding

My in laws also brought cases of Neal’s favorite root beer from Iowa, Dang Root Beer!  It was seriously just about the most amazing root beer because it’s BUTTERSCOTCH Root Beer!  A-Mazing!

Wedding

We also had Jones Soda make us a few personalized bottles of their sodas for the kids and for Neal of course.

Wedding

Hill Country BBQ also provided sweet tea, water, and lemonade for guests in these adorable beverage dispensers.

Wedding

A fun addition to the beverage table were the napkins I had made by Reflections By Lola. Oh so cute and just a perfect addition.

Wedding

One of my favorite details however were all of the pillar candles we placed in the stone fire place.  They were just beautiful!

Wedding

The reception was just beautiful and I loved seeing it all come together and to have guests fill the chairs.  It was perfect.
